Facebook is overtaking Orkut almost everywhere. Orkut was leading only in two countries India and Brazil. But in these two countries too, it looks like Facebook may overtake it soon. Facebook just introduced a way to find and Import your friends from Orkut. It lets you find your orkut friends who are on Facebook and invite them to Facebook if they are not on facebook.
When you login to Facebook, you may find a notification about “find friends on Orkut” on the top of page. IF you are unabel to find that, you can find it under “Find More Friends“.
If you want to use it, click on find friends. It will lead you to your Google accounts page asking you to authenticate the access of facebook to your Google or Orkut Account.
After you Authenticate, it will show your Orkut friends who are on Facebook. Just add them be selecting all. It will also give you a option to invite your Orkut friends who are not on Facebook to Foin facebook.
Another feature that may reduce Orkut presence on the web. Until Orkut starts doing thing differently or produce something excellent, it will be hard for it to compete with Facebook.
