Best plugins for related/Similar posts with thumbnails

How often you see Similar posts/ content along with thumbnail images on many blogs making it more attractive for the blog reader to click on it and hence higher page views,  increase in your traffic, lower bounce rate & overall revenue. Even though sometimes its difficult to set these similar posts with thumbnails, there are few good plugins which makes the job easy for you. Today we will talk about some of these best WordPress plugins which can do the job for you.

1. nrelate Related Content

This plugin till now has worked perfectly for me without any issues of any kind. For me, nRelate tops the list of plugins which can show similar or related posts on a blog along with thumbnails. This plugin gives you loads of customization options. You can choose the size of thumbnails and number of similar posts. You can either use the default settings to show it after the post or if you want, you can use a PHP code and place it anywhere you want those similar posts with thumbnails to appear on your blog. This custom placement is not available in many plugins.

There are four ways to display related content:

• Automatically display before or after each post.
• Use the [nrelate-related] shortcode in your post.
• Use our widget in any widget area in your theme
• Place the nrelate_related() function in your theme files.

And two display styles:

• Thumbnails
• Text

2. Linkwithin

This is another great service to show Related posts with thumbnail. This is no WordPress plugin exactly. You need to generate a javascript code from the Linkwithin website which should be placed inside your WordPress blog. This service too generates quite good related posts with thumbnails without putting any load on your web server.

You can show max five Related posts with thumbnails using this service. Also, this service puts a small backlink linking to Linkwithin when Related posts with thumbnails are being shown with blog posts.

These two plugins/ services are good as they operate on their own servers and even don’t slow down your webpages as they normally load at the end when everything else on your webpage is already loaded.
