Its been a long time since i wrote anything here. Actually was a bit busy with so many stuffs. Anyway, today i will talk about something which is very important for running of any blog or website. How to keep track of your website stats or visitors coming to your site.
The importance of tracking your visitors and other website stats like traffic details, geographical stats, search engine traffic and much more helps you manage your blog in a efficient way helping you make it grow more and more. There are many trackers available which help you do this. These includes some plugins from wordpress and other developers and few other ones.
I will be talking about Statcounter here as i find it too good and provide wealth of information for free( yes no dime at all) and that too in real time. Here is what you read on its front page.
A free yet reliable invisible web tracker, highly configurable hit counter and real-time detailed web stats. Insert a simple piece of our code on your web page or blog and you will be able to analyse and monitor all the visitors to your website in real-time!
- Free, Fast, Responsive, Quick loading and Reliable Service. (Why is it free?)
- Invisible Tracking – no ads on your website.
- Accurate real-time website statistics with detailed visitor tracking and analysis.
The setup is too easy. Just like creating a new mail id. After you sign in with user name, you need to add your website/blog in it. Its simple. You will be offered a HTML code after you tell it whether you want a visible or invisible counter along with some other options. You need to just insert that HTML code into your website anywhere you feel like. Placing that code in footer area is recommended though.
After you place the code in your site, the counter starts tracking it in real time. You can have a real time status of your website on different aspects of your website.
The details which you can have from this about your blog and its visitors is enormous starting from IP address , operating system, location, the time , entry and exit pages of the visitors along with many more data will be accessible to you. Just take a look at the pic above to see how much data you can gather through this.
The data gathered above can help you improve your blog and also to improve your traffic and page rank too. Give it a try, its too good if you are serious about your blog.
One thing though, this is free only till you reach visitors count/page views of 9000 per day. But that too big figure for average blogs. 6qygbiap84
